How to invite a co-host on Airbnb
To invite a co-host on Airbnb, open your listing, click Co-hosts in the Listing editor, enter their phone number or email, choose their permissions and send. You can have up to 10 co-hosts per listing. Pick the permission level with your tools in mind.
How to invite a co-host on Airbnb
On a computer, per Airbnb's Help Center:
- Click Listings and select the listing.
- Under Listing editor, click Co-hosts.
- Under Invite a co-host, click Get started.
- Enter the co-host's country or region and their phone number or email address, then click Next.
- Select permissions for the co-host, then click Next.
- Review the details and click Send.
The rules worth knowing
- You can have up to 10 co-hosts per listing.
- The listing owner can invite a co-host to a single listing. A full access co-host can also invite one, but only to an individual listing.
- Only listing owners can invite a co-host to several listings at the same time.
- You can select permissions to limit what a co-host can access and manage, and you can change a co-host's permissions on an individual listing at any time.
Why the permission level matters
The permissions you choose decide whether your tools will work. Two vendors say so in their help pages:
- PriceLabs says that if you are a co-host connecting a listing, your permissions must be set to Full Access.
- Hospitable and OwnerRez both need the owner's Airbnb account to be connected, not just the co-host's. OwnerRez says it is not possible to connect with co-host login credentials.
In short: a co-host can do the daily work, but the connection between Airbnb and your booking software is approved by the owner. See the Hospitable and OwnerRez pages.
How this works with Listed & Live
We ask for a co-host invite instead of your password. The listing stays in your account, you stay the owner, and at handover you take us off. Nothing stays tied to us. Where another app lets you add a team member, we use that. We tell you exactly who to invite, and we never need your Airbnb password.
Co-host access is the first step of our Airbnb listing setup service.
Questions people ask
Do I have to give my Airbnb password to a co-host?
No. A co-host invite is the way to give someone access without sharing your login. We do not ask for your Airbnb password.
How many co-hosts can a listing have?
Up to 10 per listing, according to Airbnb's Help Center.
Can I change what a co-host can do later?
Yes. Airbnb says you can change a co-host's permissions on an individual listing at any time.
Does inviting a co-host change who owns the listing?
No. The listing stays in your account. Software like Hospitable and OwnerRez still needs the owner's account to approve the connection.
